The Truth About Caffeine

Ladies and gentlemen. Let me ask you! Do you drink coffee? Can you live without coffee? How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day? One cup. two cups or more! Now let me tell you about the positive effects and the negative effects of caffeine. The good news is that caffeine does help us. When we feel sleepy or are driving long distances, caffeine when consumed does wake you up! It also increases attention span. One good example about this is that when a big festival is near eg. Hari Raya Puasa ,Chinese New year, etc, the road users especially the drivers will be given free cups of hot coffee at the highway toll houses to perk them up. Besides, studies have also shown that caffeine contains antioxidants which have cancer prevention qualities.
The negative effects of caffeine are that when consumed in larger amounts, one may feel an increased in heart rate, dizziness, feel restless and have sleep problems. For your information, most teenagers have their intake of caffeine through carbonated drinks like Sarsi and Pepsi
too! which are bad for them. For your information, 6 to 8 cups of coffee or carbonated drinks in a day is considered excessive. So, the bottom line is that ,if you drink your coffee in moderation, you do not have to worry too much. At least now, you know what it is and isn't doing to you.
